In seeking to represent a time in history, the documents of the age offer many insights.

Given the digital age, these documents are now available to those with access to the WWW. We can search, explore, investigate, seek and go down the rabbit hole of just about any topic for weeks.

If you want a tent that can be ‘referenced’ to a definitive time period or cultural group, start by seeking out the manuscripts, documents, depictions & representations of events from that period. Often the best results might come from parrel searches, but as the WWW becomes more connected and indexed, you might be able to search for, e.g. tent: Byzantine. The results will present directions to take your investigation. Follow along & cross reference where you can.

Cross-referencing is always essential as the source can be miss labelled by others.

A few possible methods:

  • WWW search via a web browser

  • Wikipedia

  • Image search

  • Pinterest

  • Manuscript collections

  • Online databases

  • Journals

  • Ask your governing group

We can assist with research as we quote on works.
